Find members present in all three lists
Use two matching-row joins on unique IDs to retain only members found in every one of three lists.
A match between the first two lists does not prove membership in the third. Connect the same ID to each other list and keep matching rows on both connections.
P3 is the only member in all three lists
P2 belongs to First and Second, while P4 belongs to Second and Third. Only P3 is in all three fictional lists. Use stable IDs, with one row per ID in each roster.
First
| ID | Name |
|---|---|
| P1 | Ari |
| P2 | Bo |
| P3 | Cam |
Second
| SecondID |
|---|
| P2 |
| P3 |
| P4 |
Third
| ThirdID |
|---|
| P3 |
| P4 |
| P5 |
Require a match in each of the other two lists
- Load all three rosters. Join First.ID to Second.SecondID with Matching rows only.
- Connect First.ID to Third.ThirdID and again choose Matching rows only.
- For an ID-and-name output, hide SecondID and ThirdID with their eye icons. Their join criteria remain active.
- Check that P2 and P4 are excluded and only P3 remains. If rows multiply, inspect repeated IDs in the source lists.
What to check in the result
The single output row is P3, Cam. An at-least-two-lists rule would also admit P2 and P4 and is a different requirement.
| ID | Name |
|---|---|
| P3 | Cam |
Use one record per member in each list
If a source contains several attendance records for one person, prepare a list with one row per member before joining. Use IDs rather than names alone so people who share a name, or whose names have changed, are not matched incorrectly.

Trying to identify repeat participants across 3 years of data (Reddit r/excel)
This question asks how to find participants who attended in all three years. The member lists here are fictional, not the author's data or a JOIN SHEET review.
